The Salty Dog podcast web page started in 2005 as a Joomla Ver 1.5 content management system. In late 2019 work began to transition to a new design using the WordPress system.
The site hosts approximate two years of current podcast audio, each show running for two hours+. Audio interviews are also featured with key national and international artists. Archived shows and interviews stretch back to 2003, and are released on an occasional basis.
An online store integrated with Paypal manages sales of merchanandise.
Marketing is through a database with the YMLP email marketing system, Facebook and Instagram.
The ‘Salty Dog Blues N Roots Podcast’ is supported by a voluntary listener subscription model, using the Paypal system.
The site is self hosted and manages around 30,000 unique visitors a month, with over 10TB/mth of audio content downloaded worldwide.
